Das ist genauso gaga, wie es klingt, und sorgt für zwei vergnügliche Stunden. Proschkas Texte klingen, als seien Arthur Sullivans Melodien aus „comic operas“ wie „Iolanthe“ oder „The Pirates of Penzance“ just für sie geschrieben worden.

Hier erwartet den Besucher ein witziger und hervorragend gemachter Theaterabend, der seinesgleichen sucht.

Die Inszenierung von Ulrich Proschka sprüht vor Ironie und Witz, ohne dabei das eigentlich ernste Thema lächerlich zu machen. Hier gelingt ihm der Spagat, der diesen Theaterabend unvergessen macht.

It is even more worthy of note when a theatre takes the music of Arthur Sullivan, fits it up with new words and transports it tot he present day. And the G&S style is perfect fort he criticism of society wrapped in an absurd plot worthy of WSG himself. The German texts are brilliant in their absurdity and wordplay and will make the hearts of G&S fans beat faster. The fantastic transplanting of this still very British subject is all the more remarkable because the text was written by a German speaker and first performed in a German theatre.
